It’s getting warmer!! Our patio is perfect for hanging out during the day and playing with sidewalk chalk, but at night, it’s not exactly cozy or comfortable. One quick little DIY upped our Patio Hygge game in a big big way, though – String Lights!
For this project, I took the two posts from our Wedding Arbor (See DIY Link here) and was able to repurpose them. These work out perfectly as sturdy posts that I can move out of the way for mowing or inclement weather.
The String Lights I purchased off Amazon are perfect and super affordable. I needed two strings to take it from the house and out to the poles twice.
To clip the lights to the house, I found these nifty and simple to use Light Clips. These made it super easy to clip the string of lights to the underside of our gutters.
I used a White Outdoor Extension Cord (also from Amazon… of course!) to plug the lights into the outlet. I ordered a 20 foot cord so I could tuck it into the siding and hide my work.
We’re making good and frugal progress on the patio so far this Spring. Now, we’ve got Cinder Block Shelves for Storage, and the Strings of Lights to cozy up the space. Can’t wait to show you our next DIY to spruce up our Outdoor Living Space!
