Tasty 35 Minute Hamburger Bun Recipe



It’s Grilling Season! And there’s nothing worse than having a hankering for a juicy burger and realizing you have no Hamburger Buns.
 
We found ourselves in that predicament today, but, with a little tweaking, I was able to turn my trusty dinner roll recipe into delicious Hamburger Buns. Super simple. Super Delicious. And you probably already have everything you need!
 
 
Boom! You’ve got Buns in 35 minutes! I’ve used this recipe to create super fast rolls also, and there are never any left over. Enjoy!!

Tasty 35 Minute Hamburger Bun Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/8 C Warm Water

  • 2 TBS Active Dry Yeast

  • 1/4 C Canola or Vegetable Oil

  • 1/4 C White Sugar

  • 1 Large Egg

  • 1 Egg Yolk

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 3 1/2 C All Purpose Flour

Directions

  • Dissolve Yeast & Warm water in Large bowl. Let the yeast Proof (aka, bubble!) for about 5 Minutes
  • Whisk in Oil & Sugar
  • Add Egg, Salt and Flour. 
  • Knead Dough on Floured Work Space until no longer sticky. Divide into 8-10 Balls.
  • Preheat Oven to 400°
  • Let your rolls/buns rest for 5-10 minutes. Lightly smush them just a touch before you put them in the oven
  • Whisk 1 egg yolk to brush over the tops of your buns. This step is optional, but helps give your rolls/buns that nice golden color
  • Bake for 10-13 Minutes on greased baking sheets
  • Remove rolls/buns and let them finish baking on the baking sheets for a couple minutes. 
  • Allow rolls/buns to cool on cooling racks before serving
