Being a maker means I’m always holding onto things. Good looking coffee cans? I’ll repurpose them in the shop. Toilet paper rolls? I’ll turn those puppies into binoculars before you can even bat an eye. We go through a LOT of oatmeal in this house between cookies, granola bars, and breakfasts, and those containers get used for a lot of storage. If you double them up, they also happen to be the perfect shape and height for a decorative vase of dried Pampas Grass.
Supplies Needed for this craft:
- Two Empty Oatmeal Canisters
- Hot Glue Gun/Glue Sticks
- Crafting Cord, Twine or Rope
- Scissors
Oatmeal Canister Floral Container
- Cut & Attach Containers
Cut out the bottom of one of your containers so it’s open on the top and bottom. Hot Glue it to the top of the other container.
- Add Cord
Starting at the bottom of your Canisters, wind the cord, gluing every few passes.
- Fill your container
I weighted the bottom of my “Vase”with a few heavy rocks to keep it from tipping over before arranging my Dried Pampas Grass.
I’m LOVING the way this neutral container looks with these fluffy bunches of Pampas Grass and am already looking around the yard for other Dried Goodies to Switch in and Out! The possibilities are endless with dried floral arrangements. And with a Vase this simple, and cost effective, I think I’ll be adding them all over the house and patio.
Have you tried tackling a dried floral arrangement? I’d love to see your photos!
