Baby Friendly Watercolor Paints
We have got Spring Fever in a bad sort of way over here at Rolling Richmond Homestead. It’s teasingly getting closer and closer to “play outside” weather but the rain keeps getting in the way of things. One of my go to projects for the little guy on days like this is Baby Friendly Watercolor Painting.
This kid is a full on chewer… everything he gets his hands on goes in his mouth. So we have to be careful with crayons, pencils, etc. But this method of Baby Friendly Watercolor painting creates great little paintings to send to Grandparents! Who doesn’t love getting good old fashioned mail?
I have a set of juice glasses that work perfectly for this project. I fill them halfway with tap water and add 2 drops of food coloring. Voila! Kid friendly watercolor paint!
I strip him down, cut a piece of watercolor paper down to fit on his highchair tray, give him some brushes (which inevitably become chew toys). I’ll put a little splatter of each color on his paper and let him use his paint brushes to create unique pieces of art that will become greeting cards for Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and anyone else living out of town who might enjoy a piece of snail mail.
What are your go to toddler friendly Indoor Projects? I’ll be sharing some more of my favorites through the week and would LOVE to hear yours.
