Simple and Cute Dollar Tree Wreath
It’s that great “In Between” time of year where you’re not really in Spring mode, but you’re definitely over Snow and Winter. For me, this leads to a crisis of seasonal decor and the need for a DIY Wreath. I wanted to take down my “Snow” wreath that had been on my front door since the Holiday Season ended, but, wasn’t quite ready to put up my Spring Flower wreath. There’s a good chance it will probably snow again next week!
While wandering the aisles of Dollar Tree looking for inspiration, as I so often do, the texture of these rubber shelf liners caught my attention. So I grabbed a few and a wreath frame and decided to see what I could come up with. The results were perfect! Seasonally neutral, interesting texture, weather proof and light weight, this project ticked off all my boxes for a great DIY Wreath nap time project.
I started by cutting through the shelf liners to create 1″-1.5″ lengths of the material. I took these rubber “ribbons” and began wrapping them around the frame, gluing the ends together as I worked my way around. The way these layered up together almost gives the appearance of a lace or a burlap, but for a Dollar a mat, it’s far more affordable and weather resistant!
When the whole wreath was covered, I added some buttons with hot glue to the corner, and stuck it up on the door. It is exactly what I was looking for and cost a grand total of $6! Aren’t Dollar Tree crafts just the best? What are some of your favorites?
