I’m not a Halloween person. The last time I dressed up for Halloween was the weekend I met my husband 8 years ago. I love Autumn and October, but, Halloween has never been my jam. Having a two year old, however, overrides my aversions to costumes and spooky themes. This kiddo is digging all the Festivities and Decorations surrounding All Hallow’s Eve. This Ghost Garland craft was one that ticked the boxes on my list (cute, yarn, simple) and was a fun way to celebrate the upcoming Holiday with the kiddo.
Supplies Needed:
- Yarn
- Googly Eyes
- Scissors
- Cardboard
Yarn Tassel Ghost Garland
- Wrap Your Yarn
Take your yarn and wrap it 50-60 times around your piece of cardboard. Make sure it’s not too tight, or you won’t be able to slide it off.
- Tie Off
Cut off a 6″ piece of yarn in the same color as your ghost and slide it under the yarn on one side of the cardboard. Tie in a tight knot.
- Slide off
Slide your yarn off your cardboard.
- Create Head
Cut a second 6″ piece of yarn. About 1/3 of the way down, tie your yarn around and tie tightly to create the “Head” of your Ghost. Tie in the front and back to ensure it holds.
- Add Eyes
Select two (or three) eyes for your ghost and secure them to your yarn.
- Create Garland
Cut a piece of yarn the length desired for your Garland. Attach your Ghosts using the leftover yarn at the top of your Ghost’s head.
This was a great “Momma & Me” craft that my kiddo thoroughly enjoyed! He had a great time playing with the Googly Eyes and loves counting all the Ghosts.
Does your family go all out for Halloween Decorations?
